Speech Privacy Delivery Levels

You know you need speech privacy, but not which delivery level fits your rooms, change rate, and control needs.

Four capability tiers for delivering speech privacy in your rooms (including sound masking), from localized privacy blocks to enterprise networked installs. Compare features, ease of use, scale, and how easily zones can change after a fit-out without rebuilding interiors.

These are capability tiers for delivering speech privacy and sound masking, not product packages or SKUs. Every level is reliable in its own domain. The right choice depends on scale, how often your layout changes, and how much control your team needs.

Level 1

Basic Privacy Blocks

Single room or doorway, cost-optimized

Localized privacy for one room, doorway, or small leakage point. Highly optimized cost when you need reliable speech privacy in a defined zone without enterprise controls.

Level 2

Smarter Custom Audio

One floor, several rooms, up to ~20 speakers

Custom audio zoning for a floor or wing: several rooms, sensible control, and enough flexibility for a growing team without full building infrastructure.

Level 3

Dedicated Commercial Hardware

Multi-room, multi-floor, centralized control

Purpose-built commercial hardware for multi-room and multi-building sites. Centralized control, commercial warranty posture, and a system your facilities team can run day to day.

Level 4

Enterprise Networked (AoIP / Dante)

Dynamic enterprise: re-zoning, remote support, IT hardening

Networked audio over IP for organizations that re-zone often, need remote support, and want IT-grade security. AV/PA and wellbeing-zone integrations where relevant.

Comparison matrix

Use the table below to compare features, ease of use, scalability, and changeability after a fit-out. Micro and SMB sites often land at Levels 1–2; larger dynamic estates usually need Levels 3–4.

Common questions

Are the four delivery levels fixed packages?
No. They are capability tiers describing how speech privacy is delivered in your rooms. Area, ceiling access, control needs, and how often the layout changes determine which tier fits. We size scope after an audit or survey, not from a catalog price list.
Can we mix levels across one site?
Yes. Many estates use one level for open plan and another for boardrooms or AV-heavy suites. The compare matrix helps you discuss trade-offs; final zoning comes from design once rooms are mapped.
Do higher levels always cost more?
Usually, but not in a straight line. A single boardroom at Level 3 can cost less than a whole floor at Level 2. Cost depends on area, access, integration, and how many zones must change after fit-out.
We already have a masking system. Do we pick a level from scratch?
Not necessarily. Existing installs are handled under sound masking support first: diagnose, retune, repair, or expand what you have. A new level applies when you are deploying fresh or replacing beyond economical repair.
How do we avoid over-buying?
Start with a speech privacy audit or acoustic leakage measurement when the path is unclear. We recommend a tier from evidence and room constraints, not from upselling a single product family.
